| 2008 Political Activist Training Conference |

The PA Conference of Teamsters sponsored a Political Activist Training Conference at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, PA on March 13, 2008. With 98% of all Conference affiliates participating in addition to officers from the BLET, this was a very huge and successful turnout.
This Training Conference set the stage for the Pennsylvania Primary election and also established a foundation for what will need to be accomplished in the November 2008 General Presidential Election throughout our Conference states of PA, DE, NJ and WV.
PA Conference of Teamsters President Paul Cardullo opened the Conference and explained the need to elect a more labor friendly administration in Washington.
In cooperation with the PA Conference of Teamsters, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Legislative Affairs Department headed by Brother Fred McLuckie provided advise, support and literature. Speakers at the training session included Christy Bailey-Director of Field Action, Ed Baptiste-Staff-Field Action, Roy Marshall-President, Teamsters Joint Council No. 40, Carl “Hands” Paulett-Director Eastern Region Retiree Affairs, IBT and Robert Baptiste, Esq.
The Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters is the political arm of the Teamsters in Pennsylvania. It coordinates Teamster political activity and fights for working families on labor, construction and public employee issues. The Conference represents over 92,000 members in the states of PA, DE, NJ and WV.
